WV Smoke runs all orders through an online Age Verification service (AgeMatchSM) delivered in real-time via a web based online terminal supplied by Veratad. This service provides WV Smoke with responses based on WV Smoke’s query, that a match on its query was “Found”, they are “Not Deceased”, they are “Over 21", they are “Found at the Address Provided” and they have “Provided an Accurate Year of Birth”.

Veratad’s data sources DO NOT include data from self-reported sources, social networks (such as Classmates.com, Facebook, MySpace) or other similar non-verified sources.

WV SMOKE supplies Veratad with: First Name, Last Name, Street Address, City, State, Zip, DOB.

Veratad confirms user Name and Address are sufficiently associated.

Veratad confirms that a record in one of the above mentioned databases contains information that matches and is sufficiently associated with the data sent with each query.

Veratad confirms user is not deceased.

Veratad checks against the SSA master deceased list with every transaction.

Veratad confirms user’s age (must be over 21)

Veratad confirms that each match found is over the age of 21.

Veratad confirms user’s State of residency.

Veratad confirms that the State provided with each query is associated by matching full address against the query.

Veratad’s Matching Logic (or how a person is verified)

When Veratad locates a record based on a query provided by an end-user, the look up is based on a match with either a name to an address, or a name to a full SSN. The WV SMOKE service look-up is based on name and address. The following is a summary of Tolerances and Return Codes/Rules:
