This stunning example from the Fuoco range, is crafted by some of Savinelli finest carvers. The Savinelli 320 is one of the most popular produced, by this iconic Italian manufacture. The painting appearing on the box of this pipe is "Il Fuoco/The Fire" by painter Giuseppe Arcimboldo.
The rotund, almost ball-like bowl of the "320" Author, paired with the short, fat shank and bent stem is just a combination that works to my eye. Further, as is the case with all of the EX size designated pieces, this is a big pipe. Like so many of the other Apple family shapes, the Author isn't normally a shape I think of as being a larger pipe, but it works extremely well, with the size emphasizing the big, bold masculine lines of the shape. Finished in a smooth, dark brown stain and complimented with an Aluminium band. The acrylic stem is fitted with a 6mm filter and can make use of the balsa or charcoal 6mm filters. The large bowl and short shank, make this pipe ideal for larger and leaner smokers alike.
